王涌天教授简介

    王涌天,1982年获天津大学精密仪器系工学学士学位,1986年获英国Reading大学物理系工学博士学位。北京理工大学信息与电子学部主任,校学术委员会和学位评定委员会副主席,光电学院和计算机学院博导,北京市混合现实与新型显示工程技术研究中心主任。兼任全国政协委员,国务院学位委员会光学工程学科评议组召集人,科技部信息技术领域专家组成员,国际标准组织(ISO)有关标准制定专家组成员,国家信息技术标准化委员会虚拟现实与增强现实标准工作组组长等职。

   长期在技术光学和虚拟现实领域从事教学和科研工作,在光学系统设计和CAD,新型光学元件,虚拟现实和增强现实技术、系统和应用,三维显示原理和设备,医学图像处理与手术导航等方面取得突出成绩和显著进展。发表论文400余篇,出版专著1部,授权国际发明专利4项,国家发明专利36项。有关科研成果被评为达到“国际先进水平”或“国际领先水平”,先后获得国家科技进步三等奖1项,省部级技术发明一等奖1项、科技进步二等奖4项、三等奖1项。2000年获得国家杰出青年科学基金的资助,2001年受聘教育部长江学者特聘教授,2006年成为教育部创新团队带头人,2011年荣获全国五一劳动奖章,2012年成为国家973项目首席科学家。

   重视科研成果的推广应用和转化工作。研制的复杂光学系统CAD软件曾向全国50余个单位推广应用。增强现实虚实融合显示和人机交互方面的成果已经广泛应用于文化、科普、娱乐、医疗、军事等诸多领域,其中,圆明园大水法景区的增强现实现场数字重建、纪念红军长征70周年胜利展览上的“雪山·草地”大型互动展项等成功案例在国内外引起巨大反响。与多家企业合作,将自由曲面透视式头盔显示器、多点触控大屏幕交互显示设备、红外光电运动跟踪系统等多项成果进行产品转化。2012年被授予北京市市级职工创新工作室,2013年创建了北京市混合现实与新型显示工程技术研究中心。

   多次应邀担任由国际光学委员会(ICO)、国际工程光学学会(SPIE)、中国光学学会(COS)、中国光学工程学会(CSOE)、美国光学学会(OSA)、欧洲光学学会(EOS)、日本光学学会(OSJ)组织的国际学术会议的大会或分会主席、程序委员会委员、特邀报告人,编辑国际会议论文集12部。由于“在光学设计和CAD、增强现实、新型三维显示等领域科研和教学中做出的重要贡献”,于2008年当选SPIE会士(Fellow),2011年当选英国工程技术学会(IET)会士(Fellow),2014年当选美国光学学会(OSA)会士(Fellow)。

    在教学方面,出版教材2部,其中《应用光学》英文版被评为北京市高等教育精品教材。指导的博士生先后在2006年和2011年获得全国优秀博士学位论文及其提名奖,在2013年获得北京市优秀博士学位论文。获得北京市教育教学成果二等奖和中国学位与研究生教育学会研究生教育成果奖二等奖各1项。曾2次被评为北京市教育创新标兵。注重科普工作,作为主任编委参编《现代科学知识热点问题450例》,作为光学与光电子学编写组组长参编《10000个科学难题——信息科学卷》。
